When I first started doing weddings I was overwhlemed by how the most simple of life's choices can be such a complicated process. Many of the couples that I have met with over the years enter our initial consulatation wide eyed and having no idea what to expect. The opportunity to walk a couple through a ceremony and see them begin to visualize their own moment is an incredible motivator to make sure that I am the best that I can be for them.
When I founded I Do My Way I did so to enable couples to create a ceremony that reflects who they are and allow them to personlize their moment. This process begins with knowledge - knowledge gained through understanding the elements of a weddings ceremony, getting advice from people who are in the business and by having a process by which they can easily put it on paper.
My job as an officiant is to take that piece of paper, understand the thoughts behind what has been chosen and to present those thoughts with as much skill as I possibly can. When you hire someone like me you expect near perfection in how your moment is presented (I say "near" because nobody is perfect). My promise to you is that I will do the best I can to achieve that perfection.
I look forward to working with you and to making your moment - uniquely yours.
There are very few places that I do weddings that I enjoy as much as the UBC boathouse. This is such a unique location and it offers a spectacular area in which to perform a ceremony. You are standing inches from the river and it makes you feel like you are out in the open and not trapped in some wedding venue.
Any wedding at Newlands is always an event as the gazebo outside of the main ballroom provides a beautiful background in which to get married. When Daniela and Rene asked me to perform their wedding I was exctied to return to Newlands again and be part of their big day.
